Size Guide – Snøglimt
All products from Snøglimt are made to order. The correct size is important for comfort, safety, and the overall look. Here you will find a simple guide on how to measure your dog and choose the right size for collars, leashes, and bandanas.

Collars
A properly fitted collar should sit comfortably without being tight. It should be safe to use, while allowing the dog full freedom of movement.
Our sizes
XS – up to approx. 25 cm
S – up to approx. 35 cm
M – approx. 36–50 cm
L – approx. 51–60 cm
XL – approx. 61–70 cm
Please provide the exact neck measurement when ordering if you want the most precise fit.
How to measure for paracord collars
- Use a soft tape measure around your dog's neck where the collar naturally sits.
- The tape measure should be snug, but not tight.
- You should be able to fit about two fingers between the neck and the collar.
Tip: Always measure the dog's actual neck circumference – not an old collar.
How to measure for martingale collars
Measure your dog's neck where the collar normally sits, and around the widest part of the dog's head. The collar should sit comfortably without being tight.
Leash
Choosing a leash is primarily about how you use it in everyday life and what type of dog you have.
Rope thickness
6 mm: Suitable for small and medium-sized dogs. Lightweight and flexible.
Breaking strength Nylon: 500 kg
Breaking strength PPM: 660 kg
8 mm: More robust rope for medium to large dogs.
Breaking strength Nylon: 800 kg
Breaking strength PPM: 860 kg
If you desire 10 mm rope thickness, please contact us.
Length
150 cm: Shorter control in the city and for training.
200 cm: Good balance between control and movement.
300 cm: More freedom on walks and works great for tracking training.
Tips for choosing length
Shorter lengths provide more control and are suitable for training or busy traffic.
Longer lengths allow for more natural movement on walks and in calmer environments.
Bandana
The Snøglimt bandana is designed to sit lightly and comfortably around the neck. It should feel natural and not restrict movement.
The bandana is tied around the neck, and we always recommend tying it so that it fits securely without being tight.
Size
Our bandana currently measures approximately 67 cm width x 21.5 cm height. Measurements may vary by half a centimeter in either direction.
