A handmade paracord lure coursing collar, designed for fast starts, precise control, and sighthounds at full speed.

The Snøglimt Paracord Lure Coursing Collar is made for dogs that participate in lure coursing, Fast CAT, and other dog sports where quick release and stable control at the start are crucial. The collar sits high behind the ears and is specially developed for greyhounds, sighthounds, and other dogs with narrow heads, narrow necks, and fast movements.

The braided collar section provides a light, flexible, and stable construction, while the narrow nylon leash makes the whole thing simple, light, and practical to handle at the start. The slip function makes it easy to release the dog quickly and cleanly when it's time to run.

This is not a regular dog collar. It is a specialized product developed for speed, focus, and controlled handling in situations where small details matter.

Developed for sighthounds and dog sports

Lure coursing collars are mainly used for:

Lure coursing
Fast CAT
Sprints and quick releases where relevant
Training and warm-up
Other dog sports where quick release at the start is desired

The collar is particularly suitable for:

Whippet
Saluki
Greyhound
Italian Greyhound, if the size fits
Other sighthounds and dogs with narrow heads and narrow necks

The braided paracord construction provides a lighter and more flexible appearance than the sewn version, while the collar is designed to sit high and stable behind the ears during controlled use before release. It does not have sewn-on or attached thread, giving you more opportunity for variation or personal preference.

Measured behind the ears

For the correct fit, the measurement should be taken completely behind the ears, not around the usual part of the neck.

This is important because a lure coursing collar should:

sit higher than regular collars
be stable at the start
provide control before release
not slip down under controlled tension

We recommend that the collar fits snugly enough to provide control, without the D-rings meeting when the collar is tightened.

All collars are made to the dog's exact measurements for the best possible fit.

Handmade for your dog

Each collar is hand-braided after order. Small variations in braiding, pattern, placement, and details may occur, and are a natural part of the handmade character.

Because the collar is custom-made, it is important that you measure carefully before ordering. If you are unsure, please feel free to contact us before we make the product.

Important Information

This product is designed for sport, training, and controlled use. It is not intended as a regular everyday collar, for long-term use, unsupervised use, or constant pulling.

Rules for equipment may vary between sports, organizers, and competitions. Always check the applicable regulations if the product is to be used in official competition.

We always recommend that the dog is supervised during use, and that the collar is checked regularly for wear and tear.

How to choose the right size

Use a soft measuring tape and measure from behind one ear, under the jaw, and up to behind the other ear. The measurement should be taken where the collar will actually sit during use.

Select the size range that best fits, and then provide your dog's exact measurements in centimeters when ordering.

Application area

This slip lead is designed for controlled use in dog sports where quick and precise release is essential. It is especially suitable for lure coursing and Fast CAT, but can also be used in other training and sports situations where the dog needs to be held steadily before release.

The neck section sits high behind the ears and under the jaw, and is designed to provide good control for short moments before the start. The wide design distributes pressure better than a narrower lead, while the slip function makes it easy to release the dog quickly and in a controlled manner.

The product is particularly well-suited for sighthounds and other dogs with narrow necks and head shapes, such as Whippets, Salukis, and Greyhounds.

This is not intended as an everyday leash or collar for walks, prolonged use, or constant pulling. Always use under supervision.

How do I measure?

Use a soft tape measure and measure from behind one ear, under the jaw, and up to behind the other ear. The tape measure should be placed high on the neck, where the slip lead will sit. The tape measure should be snug against the dog, but not tightened.

Maintenance

– Rinse in lukewarm water as needed
– Air dry
– Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight may cause some fading over time

Note

Small variations in color, pattern and expression may occur as each product is handmade. Not intended as safety equipment or for strong pulling and high loads.
